The Resurrection Tour hit Stage AE this past Wednesday, co-headlined by Asking Alexandria, and Black Veil Brides, along with their opener Crown the Empire. As extraordinary as this lineup is, any Asking Alexandria fan there all had the same thought: Danny Worsnop is back!

After leaving the band back in January of 2015 to focus on his career with We Are Harlot, Danny Worsnop has made his long-awaited return to Asking Alexandria. He brings a new self- titled album and a full run tour with him. Their portion of the show starts with “Into Fire” , off the new album. Fans are interpreting this new song as an apology to the rest of the band from Danny, and about his life before and after rehabilitation.

Following that are several other songs from their latest album, which is a completely new sound for the band, but fear not fellow AA fans, they didn’t leave all of the old stuff behind. Despite the setlist being mainly songs off the latest self-titled album Asking Alexandria the band did mix in a handful of songs from earlier albums, including an acoustic version of “Someone Somewhere” off of their 2011album Reckless and Relentless performed by Danny Worsnop and guitarist Ben Bruce.

The Black album didn’t get as much stage time due to Worsnop’s lack of involvement, but I think it is safe to say that Worsnop’s return has been welcomed back with open arms by those who have followed Asking Alexandria for the long haul, along with those who are new to the fan base as well. As they closed their set in Pittsburgh with” A Prophecy “from their first ever debut album Stand Up And Scream, released in 2009, which one can only wonder if perhaps maybe it is a symbol of a whole new beginning for Asking Alexandria.
