IMMORTAL Complete Songwriting Sessions For Ninth Studio Album
June 1st, 2016

Bergen, Norway-based black metal group Immortal – consisting of lyricist / guitarist Demonaz (real name: Harald Nævdal) and drummer Horgh (real name: Reidar Horghagen) — have completed the writing process for their ninth full-length studio album.

Immortal issued the following statement: “This will be our darkest and coldest album in a long time: pure Blashyrkh metal the way our fans know it, with massive majestic riffs, grim frostbitten vocals and tales from our mighty realm. Fast and furious tracks, epic tracks and longer playtime than any of our previous albums.”

Demonaz is now additionally handling vocals for Immortal following the 2014 split with frontman Olve Eikemo (aka Abbath).

“The massive fan support has been very inspiring and we will not let down the fans,” Immortal continues. “The last year we have completed all the new songs and look forward to record our most passionate album in a long time. The songwriting process has been awesome and we are soon ready to start the recordings.”

Immortal shared the following with respect to Immortal’s forthcoming studio effort. “After the last years incidents it was time to go back to the roots to what this band is really about musically, and also to take the integrity of the band back to where it belongs. Cold, grim uncompromising Blashyrkh metal with a true feeling is what we deliver.

“From 2010 until 2014, Immortal wrote all the songs for the successor to All Shall Fall, but when ex- member Abbath left the band in 2014, he changed the lyrics, song titles and recorded these songs for his so-called ‘solo album.’ We had to focus on making a new album nearly from scratch, which is the main reason why things have taken this much time. We are now looking forward to record the new album and present it to all those who have shown their loyalty and support.

“Immortal has always been a unique and unstoppable force, and that goes for our fans as well. We will never change our music or attitude.”

The album title and song titles will be revealed soon.

Eighth studio record All Shall Fall was released in September 2009.

Fozzy comes back to Baltimore and brings the rock, the roll and David Arquette.

Chris Jericho and Fozzy always bring a great show with them , this time they had The Nocturnal Affair and Seventh Day Slumber along for the ride .

The Nocturnal Affair is a fun band to watch. A little mix of Dark Goth Rock and alternative industrial is how to explain them. Singer Brendan Shane is a great frontman and knows how to rock out the crowd.

This was my first time seeing Seventh Day Slumber and they didn’t disappoint. The band puts on a great show and singer Joseph Rojas is not only an amazing singer but just an all around great guy. The band has been around since the late 90s and still just puts on an amazing show.

Fozzy was next and the crowd was chanting “Fozzy,Fozzy” all night long. Part rock n roll crowd part wrestling crowd, the fans were ready for experience the “Walls of Jericho”. This band is always fun. The whole band just rocks the whole stage and you can tell that they are having fun. Jericho is a natural born entertainer and just oozes charisma all over the stage.

Billy Grey and Rich Ward are a hoot to watch. Both have so much energy and are bouncing all over the stage , rich even gives PJ a few smooches now and then, and when they rock that guitar solos it’s insane. I love watching the crowd and the little kids who are at the show just enjoying watching  “The Ayatollah of Rock ’N’ Rolla”, with songs like “Drinking with Jesus” and “Judas” the fans go insane.

As I mentioned in the opening statement, as we were leaving the venue after the show, the former WCW Heavyweight Champion David Arquette was coming into the venue to talk to Jericho. David was in town for monstermania horror con weekend and stopped in get a glimpse of Fozzy.
