Ozzy Osbourne Gets Emotional Listening To “Crazy Train” Master Tape For The First Time

Ozzy Osbourne has never forgotten the days he spent performing his late guitarist Randy Rhoads. It has been over 30 years since their iconic hit “Crazy Train” was released, and Ozzy is only hearing the masters of the song for the first time in 2016.

Listening to the “masters” of a recording, means hearing the unmixed/unprocessed recordings of a song as they were at the moment they were recorded. For the first time, Ozzy was hesitant to hear the tapes at first and had to be talked into it by his son, Jack. Clearly, the song has a special place in Ozzy’s heart and the pain from losing such a close friend was still very real.

Crazy Train was co-written by Ozzy and Randy Rhoads. It was one of their final recordings together. Randy died in a tragic plane crash only two years later.
