According to The Pulse Of Radio, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello seems to have shot down any chance of that band reuniting with singer Zack de la Rocha in the near future. Morello, who’s now playing in PROPHETS OF RAGE, explained to The Wall Street Journal: “There’s no RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE — right now, the burning embers of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, the cold embers, are now the burning fire of PROPHETS OF RAGE. Where RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE lives is this summer in these songs that we are playing.”

Morello added: “We have nothing but the greatest love, and honor, and respect for Zack de la Rocha, the brilliant lyricist of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, who is working on his own music, which I’m sure will be fantastic. He’s a great artist in his own right, but where you are going to hear RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE is in PROPHETS OF RAGE.”

Morello also added that PROPHETS OF RAGE plan to record a couple of songs prior to their summer tour, which kicks off on August 19 in Fairfax, Virginia.

The group, which also features PUBLIC ENEMY‘s Chuck D and CYPRESS HILL‘s B-Real along with the instrumental members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, will travel to Cleveland to “Make America Rage Again” during the Republican National Convention in July.

PROPHETS OF RAGE made their live debut two weeks ago in Los Angeles, playing numbers from all three acts.
