Interview with Little Miss Nasty
Little Miss Nasty the RockNRoll Burlesque group, who have been on tour with bands like In This Moment and Lords of Acid just released a new single “Hungry” venturing into the music business as well. Empire Extreme got to talk to Leader of the Pack Gina about being Nasty and More.
EE: You just released the “Hungry” video, what was that like vs Gina and The Eastern Block?
Gina: well obviously I’m working with more people. I got my crew and my dancers and my team. It was different being able to take not just my ideas but ideas of what the other girls wanted to write about and their experiences as well.
EE: What was the concept and lyrics about in “Hungry” ?
Gina: Ok, Basically Little Miss Nasty puts ourselves out there all the time. On social media, on tour and we also have 4 residencies. We are constantly out there performing with tons of people watching us and of course we want them to. We celebrate the fact that people will hate us or love us or want to be with us.
EE: Exactly. Little Miss Nasty is very empowering to women to be open about their bodies and sexuality
Gina: I think some haters online think we all have daddy issues, but my parents are at my shows wearing our shirts and enjoying what we do.
EE: I’ve seen videos where you guys are all over the place and Interacting with fans and getting up all in them.
Gina: Ya, those are from our residencies. We get very interactive and when you don’t know what you’re getting into it’s very shocking. We are getting on you and wild and in your face. On tour it’s not as much because we are on bigger stages and have more distance between us and the audiences.
EE: Where did the idea of taking an act like yours which is more of a residency and take it on a metal tour?
Gina: Honestly it’s been a dream from the beginning. It kind of all started with Maria Brink of In This Moment asking us to be part of the Half God Half Devil Tour in 2017. We had to create this big stage show. She gave us the opportunity and we jumped on it. We got our feet wet and wanted to do it again and again. We’ve done a whole bunch of North American tours since then and also joined Lords of Acid on the Pretty in Kink tour which was definitely insane!
EE: So with the covid stopping all tours you decided to start a online School, how was that?
Gina: we went virtual and wanted to connect with our girls and we knew everyone was being anxious and stuck at home. We wanted to let people feel sexy and break a sweat and empower them and learn something new and zone out for 90 minutes. It’s called School of Nasty and everybody is welcome. Men and women, everyone across the world. We have people in Australia waking up at 6am to do our class. We just had our 50th class last Sunday.
EE: I know you do all the choreography. We’re you a dancer as a child?
Gina: Yeah. I started dancing and taking gymnastics when I was super young and have studied everything from jazz to tap to Hip Hop. I had a full blown career as a dancer before I started doing Little Miss Nasty. She’s fully trained.
EE: Do you have any tours coming up that you can announce to talk about?
Gina: We do have some possible things coming up but can’t announce anything yet.
EE: Do you have more singles coming out?
Gina: We already have another song mixed, polished and ready to go. We been writing more as well. We aren’t trying to stick to just one genre. We’re doing whatever we want. Our fans can really expect anything from us.
EE: If you could do a dream tour who would it be with?
Gina: I would say Rob zombie and Korn with Little Miss Nasty as the headliner (laughs)
EE: Anything coming up with Gina and the Eastern Block?
Gina: We have a new song coming out May 7th it’s called Pussy Gon Eat You. We just finished a music video for that.

INTERVIEW WITH MERCURY OF PRIEST
Empire Extreme got to sit down and talk to Mercury of Priest when the band came into PA at LoveDrafts.
The show was amazing all the bands that we seen put on a great show for the fans. Vampires Everywhere killed it once again. Last time we seen Priest we only got to see them open for Powerman5000 and got like 6 songs, this time Priest was headlining and we got to see much more which I was excited to see.
Priest played a good mix of old and new and even a few songs off the album “Dark Pulse” which is out in May. We got to see 13 songs played and even Mercury come out into the crowd a few times and when they played “Obey” even blessed some of the crowd. It was great hearing songs like “BlackListed”, “Signal in the Noise”, “History in Black” and “Vaudeville”. It was such a great night of music and a great conversation with Mercury. If you get a chance to see this band play in ur town, it’s a must

INTERVIEW WITH OF VIRTUE
Where does the band name come from? Wanting to be the best version of yourself at all times. The name is a reminder to hold ourselves accountable.
How is the music scene in Michigan? The Michigan music scene has always been vibrant and in my opinion, important. Do we get the credit we deserve? Absolutely not. But for the state that brought you Motown, Eminem, Lizzo, The White Stripes, I Prevail and so many other incredible artists – it’s kind of hard to believe that Michigan remains a hidden gem.
How’s the reception from the fans of the latest album “Omen”? It’s been incredible. From seeing people singing along at shows to us seeing new supporters of all different ages, colors, and creeds joining the journey. Omen has been a pivotal album in our career and we’re proud of it!
If you could tour with 2 bands, which bands would you want to tour with? Spiritbox and Bad Omens. They’re both making waves, changing who the metal audience is, and surely they’d be fun to hang around with.
Where do you draw inspiration for the lyrics? Honestly, the lyrics are our stories. The stories of our struggles, our trials and our tribulations.
What’s been your favorite tour or show? We just got off of a tour with our labelmates, Any Given Day. They treated us to a handful of sold out shows over in Europe, which at this point we call our second home. Those were great shows, but any show we’ve done in Europe is typically one for the books!
If you could bring back a dead musician, who would it be? Prince for sure. An incredible musician I would love an opportunity to chat or make music with!
